Houston, Texas – September 03, 2015, After successfully leading Gurobi Optimization, Inc. from its founding in 2008 to its current position as a math programming solver market leader, Dr. Robert Bixby, 69, is stepping down from his position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and moving into a new role as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Dr. Bixby will also continue in his role as Chairman of the Board.
Stepping into the role of CEO is Dr. Edward Rothberg, Gurobi Optimization’s current Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Rothberg has served in senior leadership positions in optimization software companies for more than fifteen years. He has held the Gurobi COO position since co-founding Gurobi in 2008, and prior to that he led the ILOG CPLEX team. Dr. Rothberg has a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University.
